Instructions for the I9 section of onboarding in MyFrankCrum
FrankCrum I-9 Process for Employees
During Onboarding, the employee will be requested to complete their section of the I9
For instructions on completing an I9 form, visit the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration services website. Currently (Sep 2024), the instructions are located on PDF at: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-9instr.pdf
- The I9 process will automatically begin after personal information. Returning employees can also click on 'Fill out form' on the I9 section.
- Read each question carefully and click on the question mark if a choice is not clear.
- The question mark will display an explanation and click the X in the corner to close when ready.
- Select the answer that best matches your status in the U.S.A. for your ability to work.
- For example; An Alien Authorized To Work
- Click on Continue when ready
- Some selections may require additional information.
For example, as an Alien Authorized to work, you will be requested to provide the date your work authorization expires or similar information.
- You may be requested to enter details from your work authorization paperwork. Please read carefully and enter the correct information.

- Once you have selected the documentation, please capture the right document number to avoid delays or rejections of your I9 submission.
- For example, an A number is the letter A followed by 8 or 9 numbers. "A-12345678"
- Click on Continue when ready.
- Electronically Sign by entering your name and today's date.
- Enter today's date in the format: MM/DD/YYYY
- Using the calendar, you can only select today's date. For example, September 10th on the 10th.
- Click on Continue when ready.
- If you are using a translator or tanslators, please be aware that FrankCrum does not support an electronic signature by a translator or multiple translators.
You will be required to have your translator(s) complete and sign the form for your employer. This can be done at the time of your visit to your employer with the necessary documentation proving your eligibility for work in the U.S.A.
- Click on Continue
- Click on Section Completed… You have successfully completed the first step in the I9 process. Your employer will assist in the next steps for the I9 submission process.
