Frequently asked questions for custom forms support in onboarding
What should our forms be written in? Word or PDF?
-
- Microsoft Word or Google Docs is recommended. Part of the publishing process will be to print to PDF. However, if revisions to the forms are needed then it would be beneficial to our clients and FrankCrum to be able to quickly change it while on a call rather than rely on email.
-
- Our technology will use any forms you use on paper today; however, we do recommend reading our helpful guide on what makes a good form. FrankCrum has limits on what information is allowed to be collected, so forms asking for medical information or unusual agreements for employment will be reviewed by our compliance team prior to being approved.
Do you have recommendations or a template for a good form?
-
- We have some examples of good forms in our Knowledge base. Have a look and consider making your own forms using the same principles in the examples.
How do the forms look on cell phones and mobile browsers?
-
- The PDF will scale to be usable on smartphones however some forms look great on mobile phones while forms with many small check boxes might be hard to use.
Can we make some fields default like dates or addresses of employees?
-
- Yes, please provide a list of all fields that should be set to a default such as First Name and Last name already entered onto a different form. There are limitations on default values for forms, so please give as much information as you can to your FrankCrum representative.
Can we bring our existing employees on to MyFrankCrum and then add on custom forms?
-
- Yes, this is preferable as then the custom forms process does not hinder the implementation of your FrankCrum payroll. Testing can be accomplished using a different PIN or other tools and be ready for when the client is going live on payroll.
Can we make fields on the forms required?
-
- Yes, send the field names you would like to be set to be required or highlight the fields on a PDF and send in to your FrankCrum representative.
Can we make fields required if they answer yes to an earlier question?
-
- No, online forms are meant to behave like a digital equivalent of a paper form. At this time they cannot have drop downs, conditions, or formulas.
